Explanation
How Powerlifting score calculator works
All three methods relate the total to a body weight-dependent curve. The numbers of different methods are not directly scaled the same.

Classic Total
A male Classic athlete weighs 83 kg and achieves a total of 600 kg.
Result: DOTS, Wilks 2 and IPF GL are calculated with their respective coefficients.
Equipped Total
An athlete starts equipped; only IPF GL requires this category.
Result: The score differences show the different normalization models.

Common mistakes
Equate method values directly
DOTS, Wilks 2 and IPF GL have different curves and scales.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What does a powerlifting score say?
It statistically normalizes a total by body weight and, depending on the method, sex or equipment. It is not an objective overall assessment of a person.
Which Wilks version is used?
The calculator uses Wilks 2 from 2020 and explicitly labels it; the original Wilks formula is not reported as current.
Why does IPF GL need the Equipment category?
The official IPF-GL formula has separate coefficients for Classic and Equipped. DOTS and Wilks 2 do not use this input.
Limits
Limitations
Technique, age, level of training and competition conditions are not part of the scores.
