2. Overview

Calculator and generator computations themselves run locally on your device. Our servers process technical access data. With your consent, Google Analytics also processes the usage data described below. Form data is transmitted only when you submit a contact or error form.

External services are included only for the functions described below. Your analytics consent is managed locally in your browser. Google Cloud reCAPTCHA loads only on contact and support pages after form interaction.

3. Hosting and server logs

This website is operated by an external hosting provider. When accessing the website, technical data is automatically stored in server log files:

  • IP address (truncated)
  • Date and time of access
  • Page accessed (URL)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Referrer URL

This data is collected to ensure operation and to detect misuse. No association with individual persons is made. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) DSGVO (GDPR) (legitimate interest).

4. Browser technologies

Rechnerpilot uses the following browser technologies, which operate exclusively locally on your device:

Web Crypto API and Math.random()

The password and UUID generators use Web Crypto for cryptographically suitable random values. The hash generator uses Web Crypto Digest for SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512; hashing is not random generation. The random-number and lottery-number generators use the non-cryptographic pseudorandomness of Math.random() and are not intended for security-critical values. These processing steps take place in the browser.

Clipboard API

For copying results to the clipboard. This function is only triggered by active user interaction (click). No data is transmitted to servers.

5. Cookies and storage

The selected display setting is stored in localStorage under rechnerpilot-theme, and your versioned analytics decision with choice and timestamp under rechnerpilot-analytics-consent. Calculation results are not stored there.

When a contact or error form is submitted, Google Cloud reCAPTCHA sets the necessary _GRECAPTCHA cookie for risk analysis. The reCAPTCHA script is not loaded on ordinary calculator pages.

6. Usage measurement: internal counting and Google Analytics 4

We measure usage in two separate ways: an internal, anonymous count that runs for every visitor regardless of any analytics decision, and — only after explicit consent — Google Analytics 4. Calculation inputs and results are transmitted on neither path.

Internal anonymous usage counting

Rechnerpilot counts page views and actions internally and anonymously – without cookies, without any identifier stored in the browser and without recognising individual people. This counting runs independently of your analytics decision; rejecting Google Analytics does not stop it.

Only aggregated totals per day are recorded, such as page views and the event types calculator viewed, calculator used, calculation mode changed, PDF exported, shared, permalink copied and search result selected. Only sums are stored, no individual histories and no merged session profiles.

Calculation inputs and results, free text, search terms, full query strings, URL hashes and user identifiers are not included in this count. The IP address is processed technically for delivery but is not stored as an attribute of this statistic.

Google Analytics 4 (optional, only with consent)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, to measure the use of Rechnerpilot in aggregate and improve the service.

GA4 processes data only after your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 25(1) TDDDG). If you decline, the status is unknown, or consent is not configured, no GA script is loaded, no analytics events are sent, and no GA cookies are set.

After consent, technical data such as browser and device information, language, time, cleaned page path and page title, the origin of an external referrer, and an approximate region derived from the IP address may be processed. The IP address is technically processed during transmission; according to Google, Analytics does not log or store it as an individual IP address.

After consent, GA4 sends page views and the same event types calculator viewed, calculator used, calculation mode changed, PDF exported, shared, permalink copied, and search result selected. Permitted event details are limited to calculator identifier, category, mode, method, and position.

Calculation inputs and results, free text, search terms, complete query strings, URL hashes, and user identifiers are not sent to Google Analytics. Calculations remain local in the browser.

After consent, GA4 uses the _ga and _ga_<measurement-ID> cookies, by default for up to two years, to distinguish visits statistically and maintain session state. When you withdraw consent, we disable Analytics and delete accessible _ga and _ga_* cookies.

User- and event-level data is retained in the GA4 property for 14 months and is then deleted monthly. According to Google, aggregated standard reports are not subject to this setting; we retain them only for as long as required for the stated analytics purposes and review that need regularly.

Recipients may include Google Ireland Limited, Google LLC, and their affiliates or processors. Processing in the United States or other third countries is possible. Google states that, depending on the recipient, transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Local analytics consent

Rechnerpilot requests your decision itself and stores it with a version and timestamp in this browser's localStorage. This storage does not initiate a request to Google. Only explicit consent sets analytics_storage to granted; advertising consent values always remain denied.

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time with future effect through “Privacy settings” in the footer. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Contact and support forms

When you send a message, we process the contact details and content you enter only to handle it and answer necessary follow-up questions.

The details are emailed to the responsible Rechnerpilot mailbox and processed there under our operational email retention; no fixed deletion period is promised.

Google Cloud reCAPTCHA is used for security and bot and abuse detection. It loads only on the protected pages (the contact and error-report forms and the internal login) and sets the necessary _GRECAPTCHA cookie during verification.

7. Advertising slots

The website contains prepared advertising slots. Currently, these slots are not served by an external advertising service. No advertising scripts are loaded and no data is transmitted to advertising networks.

In the event of future activation (e.g., Google AdSense), this privacy policy will be updated before integration.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:
