How Running Age Grade Calculator works Age grading compares a road running time with an age- and gender-specific reference model of the same distance.
Age Grade Age Grade = open standard ÷ (running time × age factor) × 100The age-adjusted time is running time × age factor.

Practical examples For illustration only – your own calculation is what counts.
10 km at 50 years old A 50-year-old runner completes 10 km in 45:00.
Result: Age Grade and age-adjusted time are based on the male 10 km factor for age 50.
A female runner's half marathon A 60-year-old runner enters her half marathon time.
Result: The calculator uses the female half marathon factor from the 2025 table.
Treat trail time like road running Elevation and ground are not included in the road standards.
Only compare measured roads under similar conditions.

Frequently asked questions How is Age Grade calculated? The time run is multiplied by the factor for age, gender and distance. The open standard is then divided by this age-adjusted time.
Which table does the calculator use? The WMA/USATF Road Running Standards 2025, revision July 27, 2025, published under CC0.
Does the value evaluate my sporting quality? No. It is a standardized reference number for road running performance and not a medical or personal assessment.
