Sources and Methodology
This translation is provided for information only. The German version is authoritative.
Every calculator on Rechnerpilot is based on traceable sources and documented calculation methods.
Types of sources
- Laws and regulations: Income Tax Act, Investment Tax Act, BGB (German Civil Code), Social Security Code
- Official publications: Federal Ministry of Finance circulars, BMAS regulations, Bundesbank statistics
- Standard mathematical methods: Compound interest formula, annuity calculation, statistical methods
Calculation methodology
Interest and cost functions return the same results for the same inputs and reference values. Tests cover compound interest, loan payments and invalid inputs, for example. Rounding and model assumptions depend on the calculator; reference data may be retrieved from the server.
Updates
Time-sensitive parameters (base interest rates, tax rates, minimum wages) are updated after official publication. The source references for each calculator show how current the values used are.
